OVERVIEW
Located literally at “the end of the road” this unique lodge sits in the border area between
Belize and Mexico in the quiet fishing village of Xcalak (pronounced EESH-KAL-ACK). Situated on a point near the little known Bay of Chetumal. Costa de Cocos is truly like stepping back in the time of “old Mexico”. Very undeveloped when compared to it’s neighbors up north like Majahual, Tulum and Cancun. This is a little
known retreat for many expatriates. Many “gringos” have purchased beach-front lots and built some truly spectacular homes here. Don’t be fooled, it has had little effect on the local flavor and only seems to enhance this seaside village. It seems you can always find someone from your hometown in one of the quaint watering-holes scattered about the village. Cool ocean breezes keep the lodge comfortable and the wind generators spinning for modern conveniences. This is one of the “greener” lodges about the area. There is plenty of activity in town and around the lodge. If you enjoy nature touring, diving and fishing, touring ruins and soaking up the local color, this is the place. Not to mention the wonderful flats fishing throughout the area.
