OVERVIEW

When it comes to locating and hooking fish in the Colorado high country, no other guide service does it better than the staff at Cutthroat Anglers.  Located just 70 miles due West from Denver, this premiere fly shop and guide service has access to more water than any other outfitter in the state.  Situated on the banks of the Blue River in Silverthorne, Colorado, this shop is a virtual clearing house of information and knowledge.  Being so close to so many “Gold Medal” rivers and with such knowledgeable guides, this shop has the exact pulse of what is going on out there on the rivers. 

FISHING

This is trout fly fishing heaven.  The diversity of rivers to choose from can accommodate any level of angler.  Float trips are the mainstay of Cutthroat Anglers.  The shop maintains over 16 drift boats to get you on top of the most productive portions of the rivers.  With permits to float on several and not just one river, the guides and take you where the action will be the best.  Cutthroat Anglers also offers full and half day wade trips, private water angling (a must for those special occasions) and still water float trips.  If you have ever desired to fish the Colorado River, Blue River, Arkansas River, Williams Fork, South Platte, Roaring Fork and many others, this is your opportunity to do so with confidence.  All of the guides here have numerous years, if not decades, of experience.

ACCOMmODATIONS

Cutthroat Anglers is located in “ski country”.  Summit County is a recreational paradise and with multiple ski areas and the abundant natural surroundings, there are endless choices for guests to choose from.  Sporting Life can assist you with arrangements for a hotel, motel, luxury home, resort lodging, private residence, condo or even a pup tent.  There is accommodations for any budget and any size group. 

CAPACITY

3 anglers are allowed by state law for each guide.  Groups up to 40 can be accommodated.

LENGTH OF STAY AND RATES (2010)

Any number of days fishing can be arranged.







Float Trips:                 $450 for 2 anglers, $395 for 1 angler (2 anglers max per boat)

Full Day Wade Trips:  $275 for 1 angler, $375 for 2 anglers, $495 for 3 anglers

Half Day Wade Trips: $215 for 1 angler, $275 for 2 anglers, $315 for 3 anglers

Stillwater Float Trips:  $400 for 2 anglers, $325 for 1 anglers (2 angles max per boat)

Private Water rod fees:  prices vary from $60 to $150 per rod in addition to guide fees.

BOATS AND EQUIPMENT OFFERED

16 foot Drift boats and rafts are used depending on the river, flow and conditions.  All trips include the free use of Gore-tex waders, Sage and Loomis fly rods and Ross reels if needed.

HOW TO GET THERE

Most anglers travel by air to Denver, Colorado.  From Denver it is a short hour and a half car ride up I-70 directly to Summit County.  Sporting Life can assist you with car rental in Denver or even arrange for a limousine or shuttle van to get you there. 

NON-ANGLING ACTIVITIES

Summit County is the bedroom community for Denver.  There is more to do here in a week than is humanly possible.  Hiking, whitewater rafting, skiing, sledding, snow-shoeing, hot air ballooning, mountain biking, shopping, dining, ice skating, camping, backpacking, wonderful resort spas, snowmobiling, 4 wheel drive tours, etc.  The variety of options is endless.  Sporting Life has over 25 years of experience here and we can get you hooked up with the “insiders and locals” who do it best. 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR TRAVEL

Foreign visitors to the United States will need a valid passport. 

WHAT’S INCLUDED & WHAT’S NOT

All guided fishing trips with Cutthroat Anglers include transportation to and from the shop, all gear (waders, rod, reel), refreshments, beverages, gourmet lunches for full day and float trips, your guide and any boat launch fees for the river.


Gratuities for the Guide are not included.  Flies for your particular trip and fishing license for the State of Colorado are not included (a 1 day license is currently $14.00).  A 5% user fee assessed by the State of Colorado is also not included.
