ARGENTINA

OVERVIEW

There are only a handful of places in the world that conjure up images in one’s mind with a single word. “Patagonia” is one of those words.  The region is so vast and wild, it can be difficult to decipher where to start.  There are so many productive rivers in this region alone, you could spend an entire life exploring them all.  Argentina is a wonderful and stable country with warm and friendly locals and giant trout that will test the ability of the finest reels on the planet.  If your hearts desire is big, bruising trout, excellent food and discriminating wines, post-card scenery without the crowds, Argentina and Patagonia are here to fulfill you.  This is another destination that is truly unforgettable.

FISHING

Patagonia Wild Trout operates inside and outside of the Lanin National Park, Neuquén Province, North Patagonia.  Made famous for the Lanin Volcano.  Surrounded by the most spectacular views, these waters are the perfect environment for the famous Patagonian Wild Trout.  PWT can host anglers on more than 250 miles of wild waters in 10 different rivers, more than 10 lakes, 15 lagoons, small streams and creeks… all of them with staggering amounts of Brown, Rainbow and Brook Trout… The chance of the trophy of a lifetime is always waiting within these waters. Patagonia is famous for having a spot for every angler.

TARGET SPECIES

Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout and Brook Trout (nice ones too).

ACCOMmODATIONS

This destination is so nice it deserves a second row of pictures to do it justice.  Patagonia Wild Trout offers two deluxe accommodations.  First is the Estancia Lodge.  This is a private ranch surrounded by natural beauty and the relaxed feel of the region.  The warmth of Argentine hospitality permeates the entire facility.  The “second home” feeling is the most descriptive way to put it.  Estancia sits right on the river, so serenity is a premium here.

Pampered in Patagonia?  No problem.  Guests may want the excitement of a tourist center with shopping, museums, casino, pubs and local color.  The answer is Hosteria Resort and Spa.  Located in the quaint town of San Martin de Los Andes.  This exclusive Agentinean House has been exquisitely restored with five boutique suites.

Sporting Life clients will enjoy an exquisite home made breakfast, gourmet meals, authentic and award-winning wines and bar service in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. The Spa offers sauna, Scottish shower, Finnish bath and a hydro and ozone pool. There are massage services and a garden with swimming pool and solarium.  This is the ideal “couples” setting.  Perfect excuse to take the spouse fishing in Patagonia.  Who could say no?
