BAHAMAS

OVERVIEW

Andros Island is the largest island in the Bahamas group.  It is also the least populated.  The area has diverse and endless flats.  This is one of the most productive bonefish destinations in the world.  The bonefish here are large and unpressured.  The white sand flats are firm and stretch to the horizon.  The area is ideal for fishing in the tidal creeks, flats, bluewater, mangrove keys, hidden inland lakes and right of the beach in front.  Andros has earned a reputation for hospitality, serenity and just plain fun.  Not to mention the “uber-bones”.

FISHING

Andros is a bonefish destination first.  The beauty of the area is the diversity of “where” you can chase bonefish.  It seems there is always a way to get out of the wind on this massive island.  Guests can also sample the great fishing available in the Tongue of the Ocean, just to the east of South Andros Island. Depending on the season, dorado, tuna, wahoo, king mackerel, ocean barracuda, sharks and other species are available.  No amount of preparation, equipment or planning can replace the natural bounty that a productive, unexploited bonefishing location delivers. South Andros is, most definitely, the location for bonefish.
